Teaser from Completely Whole
Lord, Still I Rise
“Five times I received from [the hands of] the Jews forty [lashes all] but one;
Three times I have been beaten with rods; once I was stoned. Three times I have been aboard a ship wrecked at sea; a [whole] night and a day I have spent [adrift] on the deep;
Many times on journeys, [exposed to] perils from rivers, perils from bandits, perils from [my own] nation, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the desert places, perils in the sea, perils from those posing as believers [but destitute of Christian knowledge and piety];(II Corinthians 11:24-28 AMP)
How do you see yourself? If all that you have encountered does not push, motivate, and drive you forward, you have failed your test. Your testimony may not be like Paul’s, but you do have one.
No one knows the magnitude of your pain and sorrows, but I’m convinced if you measured it up to Paul’s, it wouldn’t come close. However, only you and God know your story.
What Is Your Story?
I’ve been beaten, scorned and battered because they are intimidated… Still I Rise.
I’ve been labeled as common and ordinary, because you assume to know me… Still I Rise.
You crush my spirit and break my heart… Still I Rise.
Controlled by people… Still I Rise.
Homeless and sleeping in parks or where ever I could find shelter… Still I Rise.
Faced death by gun fire…Still I Rise.
Storm, rain, and floods… Still I Rise.
In debt, discouraged, and broke… Still I Rise.
Adversities come to wipe me out … Still I Rise.
The same Spirit that kept Paul rising in the midst of difficulty is the same Spirit that is holding you up. The Spirit of God is resistant to defeat and loss.
