About The Book

"Sex too Soon!" A subject not covered enough over most pulpits. When we open ourselves up to sexual sin at a young age, do we also open a Pandora's Box filled with pain and emotional baggage that could affect our adult life? What affect does illegitimate sex have on the mind and body?

This Novella is a compelling story of influence, choices, consequences, and the offer of redemption that some receive and others reject. The book also provides a separate Bible study guide that can be used for individual or group studies.

Quote provided by best-selling Author Michelle Stimpson

About The Author

After ministering at the local city jail for about eight years, Minister Denise accepted her public call to ministry in late 2006 and is a licensed Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  She has ministered at Women Conferences and other events locally and can be heard each second Sunday of the month on WFEB Radio 1340 AM at 6:30

Minister Godfrey has also written and published three books, entitled “Worshipping God/Serving God-the Mary-Martha Syndrome, “So you say you can praise dance-now what?, “The Day I Danced Under an Open Heaven” and her newest release: "Unequally Yoked-The Pleasures of Sin lasts for a Season."  As a Play-Write, she has written four gospel stage plays, entitled “Daddy’s Little Girls Embracing the Father”, “Saving Generation Next”, “A Change is Gonna Come”, and "Somethin for Mama", and also several inspirational poems.

Minister Godfrey is currently the director of the dance and drama ministry at the New Beginning Ministries where she serves as one of the Associate Ministers under the covering of Pastor Erastus Godfrey and Assistant Pastor DeForest Godfrey.  She is the wife of Assistant Pastor DeForest Godfrey, the mother of two children and is a loving grandmother.  Minister Godfrey enjoys writing, aerobic exercising, dancing, and just spending time with her family.

What makes you feel inspired to write?

Mostly, the challenges of life and the hope that our faith in Christ Jesus brings.

How did your life as a writer begin?

My life as a writer began long ago as a child.  I had a very creative imagination.  I would day dream and see pictures of characters acting out movies.  I used to love writing short stories about lost dogs being found, little girl's winning pageants, etc.

How did you come with the idea for your current story?

I love writing gospel stage plays, so I was inspired to write a real to life fiction story with lots of drama, action, suspense, and the hope of redemption.  I also wanted to use a "keep it real" approach that people could relate to and also touch on some of the gray areas that are not always addressed from the church pulpit.

Tell us about your writing process. Do you outline, or are you more of a seat of your pants type of a writer?

For the most part, a seat of your pants type of writer; however, at times I do outline ideas and thoughts that come to me when I am not writing.

What is your most interesting writing quirk?

Strange, but I love to sit in my bedroom and stare out of the blinds at the trees, especially if the day is not too sunny and not too cloudy especially if there is a gently breeze.

I also get much inspiration to write when listening to instrumental music, watching dramatic films, and listening to songs that have dramatic story lines.

What is the highest goal that you desire to meet as an author?

I would absolutely love to get into writing for television

Who is the one author that you would love to meet someday and why?

I would love to meet Tyler Perry.  Tyler Perry and I seem to have similar writing styles when it comes to the plays!

What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone that wants to get into writing?

Just start with the breath of inspiration that is in your heart.  Don't worry about how it looks or sounds initially, just do it!

What do you have in store next for your readers?

A Gospel Stage Play

Describe your book in three words?

Interesting, dramatic, redemptive
