The PKs Journey to Jesus by Dr. Stephanie Bigelow #christian #nonfiction #newbookalert #newbookrelease #indieauthor

Write Now Literary is pleased to be organizing a one-week book tour and Amazon gift card giveaway for The PKs Journey To Jesus by Dr. Stephanie Bigelow. The book tour will run from Nov, 28- Dec 2, 2022.

ISBN: 979-8218059743

Genre: Christian Inspiration

Book Release Date: October 16, 2022

Dr. Stephanie Bigelow has served in ministry since her early teens. Growing up a Pastor’s daughter, Dr. Bigelow was exposed to serving in God’s Kingdom at an early age. In her father’s ministry in Fairfield, California, Stephanie taught children’s ministry, worked as a youth leader and assisted her parents with church administration. A Bay Area native, Dr. Bigelow grew up in Fairfield, California where she graduated from Armijo High School. She studied at the University of Phoenix earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration. Additionally, Dr. Bigelow holds a Master of Theology degree and an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from GODSOM University.

Many preacher’s kids who have grown up in the church have experienced ups, downs, and challenges associated with ministry life. Ministry is no tedious journey. Just like their parents, PKs have had to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling, both privately and publicly. There is no doubt that PKs will endure their own life challenges, but regardless of how they start, what matters is that they finish! This book chronicles one such PK whose personal journey to Jesus was met with trials, setbacks, victories, and ultimately total redemption. Readers of this book will gain a better understanding of the humanistic side of ministry families. PKs will be empowered to embrace this mandate they have been called to. PKs, it’s time to reach forward and walk in your God-given calling!

Trials don’t discriminate. They are equal-opportunity employers. In our lowest points in life, we can pull on God’s joy and strength to lift us out of whatever pit we find ourselves in. When we’re weak, God is even stronger. No matter where life takes us, there’s no pit that’s deep enough where God’s word can’t deliver us out of. Psalms 40:2 (KJV) says, “He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” When God brings you out of your pit, it’s a wrap!

Pulling back the layers of my struggles presented me with a multi-pronged issue that I needed to explore. There were times when what I toiled with was not fear itself. Instead, it was the life I knew that I could have if I would just let the fear go.

This truth would come to uncover a deeper layer to this phenomenon. What was I really afraid of? Well, the answer was twofold. It was the idea of being stuck with mediocracy because I was either (a) too afraid to let average go or (b) fearful of what it would feel like to embrace first-class. I was scared to lose and even more terrified to win. I wasn’t always frightened by the worst-case scenario. In some instances, the best possible outcome made me uneasy. It caused me to refuse to live a life beyond the proverbial wall of apprehensive excuses. It was the question on the opposite end of, what if I don’t get a better return spectrum. The double-edged sword that said, but what if I do. I remember years ago, talking to a friend after I completed a book project and saying, “What if I don’t do well with book interviews and selling this book?” Her response was, “What if you do?”

I normalized things not working out for me. So, could I respond appropriately if it did? Was I capable of walking in the win? Would true happiness cost more work and effort than I was willing to put in?

#VIRTUALBOOKTOUR SHUT'EM DOWN BLACK WOMEN, RACISM & CORPORATE AMERICA #ANTHOLOGY DR. TARA HINES MCCOY CO-AUTHOR

Write Now Literary is pleased to be organizing a two-week book tour for Shut’em Down: Black Women, Racism & Corporate America by Co-author Dr. Tara Hines-McCoy. The book tour will run February 22- March 5,  2021.

Genre: Nonfiction/Anthology
ISBN-13: 978-0985031640

Dr. Tara Hines-McCoy, a native of Little Rock, AR is a compelling communicator who uses her gifts, her experiences and her faith to inspire women to take control and move forward in life. Dr. Tara has been a rising thought leader in corporate America for over 15 years specializing in Human Resources. She has worked for Fortune 500 and multinational companies with multi-state and regional leadership roles. Her professional approach equips leaders with the tools needed to improve business performance and increase employee engagement.
As a divorced mother of one daughter she has a vibrant personality that aids in her ability to connect with people on all levels. Dr. Tara has overcome life changing experiences throughout her personal and professional career. She has found a way to connect with women by encouraging them to move past their failures, by defining their own character in order to turn uncertainty to passion. An avid walker, lover of all thing’s basketball, football, and tennis. She is a self-proclaimed popcorn connoisseur. Of her many accomplishments, Dr. Tara is most proud to be a mother.

Shut’em Down is the battle cry of Black women who have suffered abuse and trauma at the hands of corporate America. Composed of the stories of 20 Black women who have been impacted by racism in the workplace, this anthology not only offers us conversation starters on how to combat racism on the job, but also transformative ideas to create safer work spaces for Black professionals.

Chapter Title: Black Roadblocks

Racism is an interesting creature as it can be presented in such an unobscured manner that it slides right over your head. As you trek along in life, the smallest or biggest milestones and accomplishments will somehow take you back to that day and time you were faced with roadblocks. That is when you know for sure that you, too, have come face to face with some form of unacceptance, micro-aggression, racial hostility, double consciousness or colorism. If you are like me, you have told yourself that you are not bothered by these biases.  However, together over time, they can create doubt, lack of confidence, and uneasiness for no logical reason besides the fact that, deep down, you are always trying to ensure you are as good or better than the white athlete, student, or colleague.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

I did not. The editor/visionary is Dr. Carey Yazeed. As the racial injustices were unfolding in 2020 behind the scenes black women were releasing the burdens they were carrying around…discrimination, racism, and feelings of being treated less than in corporate America. As Dr. Carey began hearing these stories across social media platforms she knew the time was now to acknowledge these women and allow us an opportunity to share our stories.

What do you hope readers will learn/discover from reading your book?

I hope these stories inspire women to talk about things (like these topics more freely) they would not talk about years ago.

For those who cannot relate I hope it will at the very least compel them to initiate a conversation with or among their Black friends, neighbors, or co-workers.

For the readers who have had the same/similar experiences I hope this drives them to be the change and set the example in the workplace.

What inspired you to write this book?

Inspired to contribute initially based on similar but different experiences my daughter had with her 8th grade English and I had with my 10th grade English teacher. However, as I began to write it evolved into my recent departure from Corporate America.

What’s next for you? Speaking | Coaching

Why do you write?

Is it something you've always done, or always wanted to do? Or is it something that you started fairly recently? Writing is something that has always gave me peace. I had not sat down to write anything of this magnitude in years. Life events and great timing allowed me to put pen to paper.

In five words describe your book?

Dynamic. Engaging. Stories of strength and triumph.

Excluding your own, name 3 books you would recommend to your friends and why?

Feel the fear and do it anyway by Susan Jeffers:  encourages mindset shift from being passive to assertive.

Rhinoceros Success by Scott Alexander: To get the life you want charge full steam ahead like a RHINO.

Do IT Afraid by Joyce Meyers: Wow! We are met with so much uncertainty and at so many different points in our life and we have to just go and do it AFRAID.

Just for fun

Coffee or tea? Tea (specifically Tea Forte/White Ginger Pear)

Lights on / lights off? Both

3 things you never leave home without?  Keys/purse

Sleep in or get up early? Both

3 celebrity crushes? Funny. Not sure if it was a crush but New

Any advice to give to aspiring writers?
