AUTHOR INTERVIEW #WOMENWHOSOAR #NEWBOOKRELEASE #NONFICTION @wnlbooktours #INSPIRATION #MEMOIR

Welcome to Nothing But Books

Today's Featured Author

Marcy Thomas

Hello Marcy. Welcome to Nothing But Books Blog. I first want to thank you for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to do this interview.  Speaking of your busy schedule, you are one of the authors in the best-selling book Women Who Soar, tell us a about yourself?
I am Marcy Thomas. I am an author, book reviewer and avid book reader.  In addition, I serve as a domestic violence advocate and an advocate for families that have lost loved ones to homicide. I am on the Board of Directors for H.O.L.I. (Haven of Light International), an organization that helps families affected by Domestic Violence. Professionally, I have worked as a medical coder for over 15 years.  I have been married to my husband, Alvin, for 33 years. I am a mother of 3 adult daughters, 2 nephews I raised and 2 grandchildren.

What’s the title of your chapter?
My chapter title in Women Who Soar is “Tears for my Sister.”

Tell us about your chapter?
My chapter is about my sister, Christine, and her marriage to a very abusive spouse. It also reveals the specific struggles she endured and how it affected our family.

What do you hope readers will learn/discover from reading your chapter?
I hope that the reader will understand how easy it is to get into an abusive relationship and how difficult it is to get out of such a relationship. You are a child of the most-high God!  You have a right to be treated with dignity and respect.

What inspired you to participate in this anthology?
I made a promise to my parents, who are now deceased, that I would write Christine’s story to help prevent another person from experiencing there loved one’s suffering in a abusive relationship.
What’s next for you?
I am currently working on a book about a young woman named Angela James. She is involved with a man that is very controlling.

What was the most difficult aspect of writing this chapter?
Without giving the whole story away, my entire family was turned upside down on June 18, 2007. Just reading over my diary entries from that day brought back some painful memories for me. God was my strength as I recounted those events.

Why do you write? Is it something you've always done, or always wanted to do? Or is it something that you started fairly recently?
I have always had a fascinating imagination. As a teen, I was very shy. Therefore, writing was my way of expressing myself.

In three words describe your chapter?
I would describe my chapter as transparent, emotional and conversational.

How can people connect with you?

FEATURED INTERVIEW #WOMENWHOSOAR #AUTHOR #BOOK FEATURE @wnlbooktours #INSPIRATION #MEMOIR

Welcome to Nothing But Books

Today's Featured Author

Roni Teson

I first want to thank you for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to do this interview. Speaking of your busy schedule you are one of the authors in the best-selling book Women Who Soar.
Tell us a about yourself?
About me, Roni Teson, author of paranormal novel Heaven or Hell, which won a Readers’ Favorite award and a first time novelist award at the Los Angeles Book Festival—and then author of Readers’ Favorite and  Dante Rosetti award winning YA novel Twist?
I should be dead.
Heading into my ninth year of survival from advanced stage cancer, and a few other challenges that have resulted in a life well lived, I’ve gained some insight through my experiences. And luckily, the better parts of me have found their way into the forefront of who I am today. Light hearted yet stubborn at times, dedicated, striving for knowledge, fun and happy to be alive—I’m on a constant search for joy.
My mission to appreciate every day, regardless of what challenges appear, just might have everything to do with my survival.
What’s the title of your chapter?
My Life Reboot

Tell us about your chapter?
Our lives don’t always take shape the way we want, but perhaps they emerge the way we need them to. I got knocked down more than a few times after the cancer diagnosis, but I bounced back and felt as though I was on the mend. Surely the actions I’d taken to rebuild my life would be enough. New place to live, new job, cancer in remission, broken heart still active, but I’d get over that, right? I had this!
Seriously, what else could I possibly lose? Home, pets, finances, career, relationship, all gone.
But I had more challenges ahead and with the worst timing ever, just as I started My Life Reboot. My chapter goes there—my memoir goes beyond.

What do you hope readers will learn/discover from reading your chapter?
Hope. Major life crises sometimes show us what we are made of.
What inspired you to participate in this anthology?
The title. It seemed to go with my memoir. And I really have a lot of respect for Paulette Harper. She worked with me on my book promotion for Twist.
What’s next for you?
I’m currently writing a memoir The Order of Things. It’s about survival and realizing your strength when your world falls apart. Not all marriages survive an intense major illness or crisis. I tried anything and everything to make my relationship work, including seeking help from a gypsy-woman who claimed to have unique powers. When things didn’t go the way I wanted them to, moving on seemed more difficult than fighting cancer. The order of Thingsis about more than just surviving—it’s about finding an extraordinary life.
What was the most difficult aspect of writing this chapter?
Staying on point, which is also the most difficult aspect about writing the memoir. Keeping a focus on the universal theme of survival and the discovery that the daily ups and downs are part of the rollercoaster ride we call life was hard.
Why do you write? Is it something you've always done, or always wanted to do? Or is it something that you started fairly recently?
My passion for writing came after I got diagnosed with stage IV cancer. The doctor refused to give me a prognosis. Facing a potential early death, I had a few things to accomplish before my life ended. Writing a novel had been a long time dream, with many starts and stops over the years. So I finally saw it through and penned my first novel. I loved every second of that process—the dreaded blank page, the critical edits, and the massive rewrites. Becoming a published author before I died was a big win for me. The entire experience ignited my desire to write, and I believe having that passion has helped keep me alive and well.
In three words describe your chapter?
Never Give Up

#BEHINDTHESCENES THE WOLF'S CHOICE BY INGE SAUNDERS #BOOKALERT @wnlbooktours #FRIDAYFIND

WELCOME TO BEHIND THE SCENES

TODAY'S FEATURED AUTHOR IS

INGE SAUNDERS

ABOUT THE BOOK

“I’ll pledge my loyalty to you through a blood oath, if you’ll support my choice of mate.”
Drew sank into his chair. “What does Rebecca have to say? The last time I spoke to her, she didn’t mention you.”
Blaine smiled. He hadn’t earned himself any favors. “She doesn’t know yet.”

Thirteen years ago Rebecca Ferguson died, at least to everyone in the Black Hills territory. With a human mother and unable to shift into a wolf, Magnum Tao, the deranged alpha of the Tao Pack would’ve had both her and her father killed for deceiving him. Magnum didn’t allow humans to mate with members of his pack.
Now Magnum is the one who’s dead and Rebecca can return.
But coming back from the dead, building a new life after her divorce and opening a library in town isn’t the only obstacles Rebecca faces. Elijah, her father, doesn’t approve of her being in Los Lobos to the point where he forbids her to get involved with the pack, especially the males.

Their relationship has suffered because of her absence and she hopes to bridge the divide; confident that she doesn’t want a romantic entanglement with anyone human or wolf, anyway.
In walks sexy private detective Blaine Walker.

Thirteen years ago Blaine stumbled on his mate at the local Swimming Hole. The next day, she was dead. Once he learns Rebecca is alive and living in Los Lobos, he decides it’s time to give up his career in Brooklyn and return to Black Hills. But he knows it won’t be easy to claim her since Elijah’s unnaturally overprotective. The only way Elijah will back off is to challenge him.
A challenge that will end in one of their deaths.

Rebecca can’t deny the old attraction she felt for Blaine is still there and even stronger now that they are grownup. She’s caught between the man fate has brought back to her and her father, whose affection she craved her whole life.
But there’s a life altering secret governing Elijah’s erratic behavior that can cost Rebecca everything she’s worked hard to build and everything she thought she could never have with a man or wolf.
Will Rebecca and Blaine beat the odds stacked against them?
Or will the choices they make ultimately lead them down a path both of them don’t want?
