#INTERVIEW #WRITERWEDNESDAY #FOLLOWFRIDAY with Model and Actor ~~Acy Brown ~~ aka... Aaron Blackman~~ #secretplacesrevealed

Welcome to Nothing But Books

Today I'm doing something a little different

we are interviewing Model and Actor Acy Brown.

Acy is the model on the cover of Secret Places Revealed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Acy about a year ago on Facebook. We didn't know each other then, but we had a mutual friend that connected us. Some people meet by chance, others have a divine encounter, I believe our meeting was divine.

Welcome Acy!!!!!

About Acy Brown

Mr. Brown is a professional performer with more than ten years of experience as a commercial print model, fashion model, and an actor. Born in Chatham, Lousiana, Acy brings a southern, sexy, “everyday” man flair to fashion and multimedia. As a sought after face to canvas print media, commercials and more, Acy is soaring to new heights with an aspiring acting career and the business of product endorsements.

His passion stems from a childhood desire to have a career in the advertisement/entertainment field. Although he danced through life working in "corporate america", Acy knew that career choice was not for him. He realized his love for fashion and acting is where his heart is and went up for the challenge. Acy is amazing when he is in action. He has excelled many milestones since starting his career and enjoys every project he has completed. Acy is a natural talent who is always looking for new ways to bring out the best in his performance and ready for any challenge on and off screen.

In addition to his aspirations of succeeding in the advertisement/entertainment business, Acy's other interests includes researching, mentoring youth and young adults, and working out a few hours a day. His regime of exercise may include weight training and cardio. Furthermore, Acy's leisure entertainment is watching sports, NFL/College football/ NBA College basketball and he also enjoys watching Western movies.

The Interview

How do you feel about being the character, Aaron in Secret Places Revealed?

Honored and flattered that an award winning artist would consider using me as the focal point of her novel and pattern her main character in the book after me!

When you first realized that your picture was on the cover what was your reaction?

My initial reaction was "I can't believe out of all the photos I have taken that photo was actually chosen to be used as the cover!"

Meet Aaron & Simone. This is their story.

As a model, what is your ultimate dream of doing?

My ultimate dream/goal as a model is to someday be a featured model in GQ Magazine wearing a suit!

Can you tell us what two things identify you with the character Aaron?

I am passionate when it comes to my lady and my work and secondly, I consider myself to be a well groomed/dressed man!

As a model and being in other print magazines, newspapers and brochures, what make this experience different, if any?

Being on the cover of a romance novel is different from the perspective that most romance novels are purchased by women.
And I have to come off as sexy and alluring to women in order to bring attention to the book and peak the interests of those woman in order for them to want to make Secret Places Revealed part of their library.

Tell us a few things about Acy that people don't know?

My favorite movies are Westerns and I love to eat bream fish that you can fry whole and eat bones and all. LOL

Delmar is the Author of the newly released book Seasons of My Soul: Lessons Learned in a Dry Place and co-author of The Power of Collaboration in Business, she has been featured in The Working Mother Magazine, The Business 101 Magazine, and The Little Pink Book Magazine; and featured on the Black Butterfly Media TV and Blog Talk Radio.

Tell us about your book?

Seasons of My Soul is about overcoming and having the tenacity to keep moving forward, even at times when I felt there was little hope to get through being unstuck, struggling with depression, toxic relationships and financial failures. It speaks of the lessons I learned as I got on the other side of each of those experiences and pass any shame or embarrassment that was illuminated in my own mind.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

It all came from me journaling for so many years and I saw writing this book as another way of journaling; only this time I allowed others to join me along the ride with more intimate details of what was in my mind, heart and soul as I journeyed through times in my life that had a significant impact.

What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?

I found the most difficult part of writing the book was remembering the parts that left emotional and mental scars. Going back to some experiences had me right back in the moment as though it was happening in that moment of writing about it. However once it was written down it no longer held any power.

Why do you write?

Writing for me has always been therapeutic. I've been writing by way of journaling thoughts for more than 15 years. And I picked up that habit once I moved out of town from my family and friends to pursue my career.

Who are your favorite authors?

I actually don't have a particular favorite author, however I do like books written from a spiritual, personal and professional development point of view, and some of those authors from that genre that I enjoy include, TD Jakes, Joyce Meyers, John Maxwell, and Rick Warren; also, Napoleon Hill, Jay Levinson,
Steven Covey

What books have most influenced your life most?

Besides the Bible, I would say, Battlefield of The Mind by Joyce Meyers, Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren No Matter What by Lisa Nichols, and Repositioning by TD Jakes
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

If I had to choose, it would be TD Jakes, because I enjoy how he pulls the spiritual and real life matters together, creating a visual picture of what he talks about and how it resonates with the reader within as you apply the principles and lessons in your own life.
What book are you reading now?

I am currently reading Instinct: The Power to Unleash Your Inborn Drive by T.D. Jakes and I Declare: 31 Promises to Speak Over Your Life by Joel Osteen

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?

The lessons I believe readers will be able to take from this book is, (1) that you don't have to stay in the place in which you have fallen, (2) that there is absolute power in forgiving and letting go
of past hurts, and (3) that it's important to surround yourself with people that support you to renew within you a sense of hope

Any advice to give to aspiring writers?

To not give up and get organized. Write by creating some structure around it including, writing an outline of thoughts, use color note-cards of the potential topics and what points you want to write about each point, schedule your writing time and stick to it. Additionally, begin building a platform prior to finishing and
launching your book; this helps to create momentum among your current and potential audience.

THE JONESES #BOOKTOUR & GIVEAWAY by SHELIA GOSS

Today I have the pleasure of featuring
Sheila Goss on her book tour promoting The Joneses

Tell us about your book - THE JONESES?

In this intriguing novel full of drama and plot twists, one family tries to hold on to their “perfect” life before their secrets, lies, and scandals are exposed.

On the outside, the Joneses seem like the ideal family: Royce Jones, a funeral home mogul, and his wife, Lexi, are parents to Charity, Hope, and Lovie—and everybody wants to be them. But it’s true that money can’t buy happiness, and the Joneses are harboring secrets that can’t stay hidden forever…It’s only a matter of time before the Joneses’ perfect life goes spinning out of control.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

I came up with the idea for The Joneses by taking the concept, "Everybody wants to be like the Joneses" and writing my own interpretation.

What do you hope readers will learn/discover from reading your book?

I wanted to show that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Some people miss out on happiness trying to compare their lives with someone else's life; never knowing what the other person has to go through.

The Cupcake Theory Virtual Book Tour and #Giveaway #Author #Interview with Clara Lee

Title: The Cupcake Theory
Author: Clara Lee
Published: October 1st, 2013 by CLÚ Press
Page Count: 64 pages with illustrations
Genre: Self-Help, Relationships

Synopsis: “THE CUPCAKE THEORY” is a powerful and encouraging book of wisdom, by Korean-American author, entertainer, consultant, and entrepreneur Clara Lee, that will empower and help women understand how they can best flourish in romantic relationships. Through using a charming analogy of the relationship between the cake and the frosting of cupcakes, the book
reinforces concepts of balancing one’s own self-awareness and needs with the desire for fulfilling romantic relationships.
“It doesn’t matter how great and lavish your frosting is… because that is not what makes you who you are,” explains Lee, regarding her theory. “What makes you who you are, is you—the cupcake without all the decorations and glitz. Be whole. Be solid. Be beautiful. BE YOU!”

About the Author:

Clara Lee is the author of “The Cupcake Theory,” a book about romantic relationships and self-worth. Born in Seoul, Korea and raised in Northern California, Lee is a graduate of Boston University. Her entrepreneurial spirit was honed at BU, where she gained the knowledge and skills to successfully build businesses. Lee’s love for the arts led her to the world of fashion, media and entertainment, including modeling, hosting, dancing, singing and songwriting. Lee currently resides in Los Angeles, Calif., with her puppy Blueberry. She divides her time between the East and West coasts to perform all her passions – including consulting and coaching in the fields of business, life and relationships, and speaking engagements at various universities and events throughout the country. Welcome Clara and Congratulations on your book.

Tell us about your book?

The Cupcake Theory is a self-help inspirational book on self-worth and healthy relationships. This powerful and encouraging book of wisdom was written to empower and help women understand how they can flourish in romantic relationships. I created a theory around cupcakes to articulate the importance of being and loving yourself in order to love others through an analogy between cupcakes and human beings.

How did you come up with idea for this book?

Overcoming a traumatic health condition, then going through a difficult and unique breakup where I was, instead of being upset at the actual breakup, I was more upset at myself and my situation of always ending up in the same place, crying and feeling misunderstood. At that moment, I found a box of beautifully decorated cupcakes on my kitchen table. Instead of eating a whole cupcake, I wondered if the cupcake would be as good without the beautifully decorated frosting. When I bit out of the cake part of the cupcake, the cake was delicious. Then, I had an epiphany and realized that just like this delicious cake without the fancy frosting, I too needed to have substance and be my whole self instead of relying my happiness and self worth on someone else. This was the birth of The Cupcake Theory!

What do you hope readers will learn/discover from reading your book?

Being your own Cupcake and not letting the Frosting get the best of you! ;).
I hope the readers will learn/discover to appreciate and understand that the most important factor in our lives and our relationships is #1. Being YOU and understanding your self-worth! Also realizing that your partner is the frosting, a person that should only enhance your already solid and beautiful self, instead of someone that makes you.

What inspired you to write this book?

My personal philosophy for helping and inspiring others was seeded by the traumatic physical experience of temporarily losing my eyesight at the age of 19. Then learning the importance of relationships with yourself and others. The experience led me to develop my core beliefs of being true and authentic from inside and out, and stimulated my passion to help others to achieve breakthroughs and reach their full potential.

Tell us about yourself?

My name is Clara Lee and I am an Author, Coach, Consultant, and an Entertainer WITH PASSION TO INSPIRE AND REPRESENT A NEW PERSPECTIVE TO THE WORLD and the idea of embracing who you are inside and out. I am a graduate of Boston University and I currently reside in Los Angeles, California with my puppy Blueberry.

What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?
Not getting too anxious or ahead of myself.

What’s next for you?

Spreading The Cupcake Theory to more people and sharing my message around Self Confidence and Healthy Relationships through speaking engagements, talks, book seminars, and life coaching for various demographics and industries to help teens, young adults, and women lead an empowering, confident, and happy life! Coaching models and artists as well.

Did you have to do any special research for your book?

Absolutely, I have researched and interviewed top reputable cupcake connoisseurs in the Cupcake Baking industry in the US. I am also grateful to have a mentor/advisor who has been with me through the entire journey: Robert J. Thomas, a Best Selling Author and Leader, Teacher and Consultant of Leadership and Transformational Change. He provided me with his wisdom and knowledge and personally coached me through this process.

Why do you write? Is it something you've always done, or always wanted to do? Or is it something that you started fairly recently?

I write because I am passionate about expression and inspiration. I believe that words create a lasting, unforgettable impression in our minds and hearts that is so liberating and imaginative!
Writing is one of my outlets to express myself and organize my thoughts filled with ideas, questions, wonders, realizations, and dreams.

I have always been a writer. I have collections of diaries and journals over 16 years! The Cupcake Theory book just came together naturally. The thought of turning this theory into a book came to me after writing about this concept in my journal and sharing it with friends to use in their relationships.
