ASIN: B00VJFVN5Q

ISBN-10: 0692564802

ISBN-13: 978-0692564806

Genre: Non-Fiction

The Little Girl Inside is a prolific story of triumph and discovery of inner peace. With each page, the reader will be captivated while the author uses the writing pen as a sowing tool-seaming a garment of praise, banner of victory and fabric of joy. With imaginative color, the book is a perfectly designed combination of patterns expressing the maturation of a woman.

A uniquely designed transparent jewel every woman should own in her jewelry box. The Little Girl Inside is a ministry resource tool for women in search for transparency in the human heart. The author shows us how to overcome the inner battle of doing the right thing the wrong way, going from finding love in the wrong places to allowing love to be revealed in the right time and in the right place.

I made room for Sir Intellectual to bring what I thought were the remainder of hi things. I also made room on my health insurance policy just in case he didn't have any. Too bad it didn't occur to me to ask him. My ability to confront was non-existent. I decided not to wait until I returned to work to handle it. I contacted my carrier and updated my policy to include my new husband.

The whole time I felt sad that he wasn't contacting his carrier to include me. I had a husband, though what caliber of husband, I wasn't sure. Sometimes I wanted to slap myself for being so needy that I overlooked important things and ignored flags, bells, and whistles.

TONYA BARBEE is a novelist and aspiring playwright. Her most recent published work is titled, The Little Girl Inside Owning My Role in My Own Pain. She is currently working on another project that complements this book. Tonya grew up in Durham, NC, a family of four daughters and one son. Her father, Woodrow served his country for twenty years as an Army officer, retired then taught ROTC for another twenty years and her mother, Doris, a college administrator. She is a proud 1980 graduate of Frank W. Ballou High School in Washington, DC. She worked in operations and management for Department of Agriculture for twenty years. For the past ten years, she’s worked as a project manager for Department of Defense in Washington, DC. She studied at National-Louis University where she earned her Masters in Business Administration in 2009.

Although she’s worked her way up the ladder in the federal government, she had no idea she would end up writing professionally however she has always enjoyed sharing her personal life through story telling with those she thought she could help. Then something clicked. As she writes, she is in hopes that her work reaches her readers that have been through something and have contemplated giving up. Her goal is to enable her readers to become empowered to keep moving forward to accomplish their dreams no matter what challenges they have been faced with.

Tonya resides in Bowie, MD with two of her youngest children, Christian and Zachary. Her eldest two, Andrew and Jessica left the nest years ago and have blessed her with seven beautiful grandkids.

Tell us about your book?

My first book, The Little Girl Inside Owning My Role in My Own Pain was written to share my story about getting through a bigamist marriage.  I first focused on bringing awareness to the blame-game.  How we as women sometimes get caught up in blaming others for our mistakes but often times, we need to hold up the mirror and reflect on ourselves.  We need to ask ourselves, “How did we get in this relationship?”  “What could I have done differently?” “How do I keep meeting the same type of men?” And, finally, take action to make changes so that there will be a change but it starts with us. We are always the common denominator.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

Well originally, it was supposed to be about my life as a child and how I grew up and the decisions that made along the way from the beginning to present but I ended up writing about my last husband and the bigamy. The fact that I was married to him for eight years and didn’t know he had a wife of 30 plus years already that he never divorced.  So I ended up focusing on that segment of my life.

What do you hope readers will learn/discover from reading your book?

I would hope my readers would read my book and say to themselves, “Where was I at in my life to have met such a person?”  “Did I ignore the signs?”  “What will I do differently?” “What am I doing differently?” “Do I forgive myself?”

Where can visitors find you online? www.iamstillarose.com

What inspired you to write this book?

What inspired me to write this book was the pain and betrayal I was feeling. It was so therapeutic to write about it.  I wanted to share my story with the hopes that it would prevent someone from going through the same thing and if they were experiencing similar trouble, I wanted them to know that they are not alone. It has happened to hundreds of others.

What’s next for you?

I’m currently working on a short story, a co-author book with several other others. We’ve compiled our most powerful testimonies and each wrote a few prayers that we hope will help to inspire others in time of need, encouragement and inspiration.

What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?

The most difficult aspect of writing this book was to reveal the pain and embarrassment of being betrayed and not aware of what was going on for so long. The fact that I was in a relationship, married, to someone who was living a double life. Also, while raising a son together- what was I going to tell him?  It was a very painful experience and I still often struggle with this.

Did you have to do any special research for your book?

I did research on bigamy. What types of people fall prey to this and how does it actually happen.  To my surprise, most of the victims of bigamy are actually very intelligent. The bigamists prefer to prey on those that are intelligent. It’s a game to them and they are typically sociopaths. They don’t feel pain and don’t understand others’ pain either.

Why do you write?

Is it something you've always done, or always wanted to do? Or is it something that you started fairly recently? Since I was in the first grade, I enjoyed writing. I liked telling stories.  I would visualize a story in my head and want to write about it.  In High School, I actually wrote a play in my senior year that was actually put into production as our final drama project. It was a great success and that’s when I knew that was what I wanted to do. But with life events, I got side-tracked but the dream never left me.  I still had it in my heart and vision as something I must do before I leave this earth.
In five words describe your book?

If I had to describe my book in five words I would have to say: 1) heart-wrenching, 2) funny, 3) empowering, 4) insightful, and 5) courageous.

Excluding your own, name 3 books you would recommend to your friends.

I would have to say the three books I would recommend to my friends  would be: A Dollar Late, Dollar Short-Terry McMillan;  The Undomestic Goddess-Sophie Kinsella; Intensity-Dean Koontz.
Name 3 authors you would love to collaborate with. Terry McMillan, Sophie Kinsella and
Among all the books that you have read, which of these have significantly contributed to your writing style? I think Terry McMillan due to the color that she brings to her material and Sophie Kinsell, due to her conversational tone that’s very comical.

Describe the relationship between your characters in 3 words. Different, Bad, and Intriguing.

Why do you feel you had to tell this story?

I had to tell this story with hopes of encouraging others to really get to know who they were marrying before they said “I do.”  Afterwards, it’s too late. I wanted to share with my readers the signs of someone who is not telling you all that you need to know and to not ignore that.  Most importantly, I wanted to bring awareness to bigamy. It’s a big issue that is not being dealt with in our country the way that I think it should.  There are no strong penalties for those that get caught having multiple marriages.

Just for fun

Coffee or tea?  I love both, but coffee every day for sure.

3 things you never leave home without?

I never leave home without my cell phone, my makeup, and my calendar.

Sleep in or get up early?  On Saturdays, I love to sleep in. On other days, it’s very difficult for me to stay in bed.

3 celebrity crushes? Will Smith, Wesley Snipes, and President Obama.

Tell us something no person knows about you. If I could dance all night, I wouldn’t have one problem in the world.

Tell us what Hollywood actors would be the characters in your book? Wesley Snipes, Javecia Leslie (my neice), Lynn Whitefield, Morris Chestnut, Angela Robinson, Peter Parros, Merle Dandridge, Rick Foxx, Keith David, and the list goes on.  I guess the budget will have to be high ha?

Genre: Christian Living/Women

Book Title: Hearts of Purpose Vol. 1

ISBN-10: 1946497088
ISBN-13: 978-1946497086

                                     About The Author

Gail Grace Nordskog has established the “Gail Grace Nordskog Collection” to embolden readers to live their lives with a “heart of purpose” for God’s glory. Gail has been involved in media for over two decades. She presently produces and hosts a program called Hearts of Purpose, that can be seen on her website, heartsofpurpose.com. Gail and Jerry Nordskog live in Ventura, California, where they have raised six children, four of whom were adopted from China.

                                About The Book

You have a call on your life. My desire is to encourage you to live life in fulfillment of that call. Following the example of Joan of Arc, you can be inspired to live out your purpose in first hearing from God and then taking your stand in following Him. Just as Joan of Arc could step forth in full confidence under the banner of her calling, so we too are under God’s banner as we step out to fulfill our purpose. Hearts of Purpose brings you ten real-life stories about ten ordinary women doing extraordinary things for the Glory of God. As you read of how God called these women to service, you will be motivated to explore His call in your own life. Let this reading experience be an invitation for you to take a step closer to fulfilling your God-given calling in Christ Jesus.

Mary Ann Ambroselli (chapter 1 starting on page 21)

On January 5, 1965, at 10:18 p.m. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces. I was told when the baby was born that I would not see him or be able to hold him, and that he would be taken to his awaiting adoptive parents. I also knew that adoptive parents often did not tell their adopted child that they were adopted, so chances were that he would never know about me. The morning after he was born, a nurse who did not know my baby was being adopted brought him to me and laid him in my arms. Another nurse came in right away and apologized for the mistake, and took him away. To this day, I am grateful for that moment.
I was able to look into his face and tell him I was doing this because I loved him and wanted him to have a life that a two-parent family could give him. The image of his perfect little face is imbedded in my memory. To date, I do not know anything about him or if he knows he was adopted. I continue to pray for him!
As I left the hospital with my mom, depression and sadness set in. I struggled with the meaning of life and what to do next. I did not want to go to church. Facing people there would be much too hard. Besides, all that had happened in my life did not reveal to me that God was loving or compassionate. And, I was sure He did not care about me. I spent my days crying a lot. I had six weeks from the day of my baby’s birth to change my mind about adoption, which I did consider. Dad said there was no way he would support me and the baby. Since I had no idea what I would do or how to support myself with a baby I decided that signing the adoption papers was best for all involved. Even though he may never read this, the following poem written for my son has brought me a lot of comfort.

Blood Mother Farewell

I’ve carried you beneath my heart, and now must let you go.
That you will not remember this, or me, as I do you.
The years will take you even farther from my reach and view. Now other eyes will cherish you, and other arms embrace,
Now other tears will fall for you, and other voices sing,
Yet this I do, that you may never want for anything; not even distant echoes of my weeping as we part; The name I name you, or the thunder of my breaking heart.

How did your life as a writer begin?

I am glad you asked the question about my life as a “writer” rather than using the word “author.” I prefer the word “writer” because I am an avid journal-writer! I have filled hundreds—probably thousands—of pages with my prayers, fears, joys, desires, dreams, visions, passions, and purpose. God has always answered faithfully. While not necessarily in my timing or even what I hoped would be the outcome, He has always been faithful in His time and His purpose for my life. I have been prayer journaling for over thirty years!

Can you share with us something off your bucket list?

I would love to write and produce at least two big-screen quality docudramas, and produce a musical in Branson, MO.

What do you have in store next for your readers?

I am anticipating following up with a second volume of Hearts of Purpose that will feature a whole new selection of inspiring contributors who are overcomers for God’s glory. Look for “Volume II: The Battle.”

She is passionate about sharing Christ, missional activities, and her local church. She also loves gardening, sewing, piano playing, and Star Trek as time permits.

 About The Book

The Bread of the Servant: An Easter Play in Four Acts. This script was written to serve a small church drama group with a big heart for witnessing. There are speaking roles for 27 actors, and several non-speaking parts, but it can be performed with fewer actors if need be. Scenery does not have to be elaborate, but two defined performance areas are needed. Stage lighting is also an important element, but it can be fixed or portable. The play centers around the Apostle John in his old age, attempting to explain to Diana, a bitter, jaded slave woman, the life-changing impact Jesus can have on an open heart. John recalls for Diana the events of the Lord's earthly ministry, explaining his own transformation from a headstrong young fisherman into a more spiritually mature man longing to serve his Beloved Master.

#GUESTBLOGGER Kolleen Lucariello A Friend Who Refreshes #inspirational #encouragement

 Welcome To Nothing But Books

Today's Featured Guest Blogger is Kolleen Lucariello

A Friend Who Refreshes

As we flip our calendars from August, ushering in September, we say farewell to our summer vacations and hello to the season of back-to-school, cooler temperatures of fall and one of the highlights of our home: football. Here’s another bonus of September: it’s also Women’s Friendship Month and I love the gift of friendship!

Recently I was reading in Acts about Paul and how difficult life had become for him. He was beaten, bound with chains, accused by the Jews, imprisoned, taken before councils and Rulers, and then eventually sent to Rome. I imagine by the time Paul boarded the ship to begin his journey to Rome he was a tired man; he’d endured a great deal. As I’m feeling bad for him, this verse jumps out at me: “The next day we landed at Sidon; and Julius, treating Paul with [thoughtful] consideration, allowed him to go to his friends there and be cared for and refreshed” (Acts 27:3 AMP).

I simply adore the fact Julius, the guard in charge, thought enough of Paul to recognize he needed the care and refreshment of his friends. That part of the story just blesses my heart because I’m so grateful for those who recognized when I needed the care and refreshment only a faithful friend could bring. While my journey, or your journey, may never look like Paul’s, it’s still possible for imprisonment to find us.

We might endure a prison of darkness when depression covers us like a thick heavy blanket. Or chained to a past we can’t seem to move away from. We may find ourselves standing before accusers—relentless in voicing their opinions while refusing to hear ours. Life is full of moments when the waters can become a turbulent sea.

That’s when we need our own Julius, the guard in our lives, to recognize our need for care and refreshment. Who is traveling your journey with you? Who is your guard in life that notices when you’re about to break? Who reaches out when you begin drifting away? We all need a guard like Julius, someone willing to stand by us, giving thoughtful consideration to our needs. And we all crave friends who bring care and refreshment to our lives. Proverbs 11:25b promises, “Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” (NIV).

Guarding and Caring always brings:

R-Refreshing.

Blessed

From the day you were born,

you were a blessing.

You were a comfort and

inspiration to those around you.

You suffered enormous tragedies

and faced many challenges.

You suffered a great deal

and life as you saw it was over.

Each day seemed like an eternity—

every moment seemed everlasting.

You went in with your eyes closed,

but came out with them wide open.

You fell to your knees and asked,

why, why me?

Not realizing that your trials

would prepare you for your future.

Not knowing you were a blessed child

and you were called for a purpose.

Many obstacles came your way

and the enemy tried to bring you down.

He never wanted you to succeed,

let alone see the light of day.

Your cries reached up to God.

He said, You are my child.

No matter where you go,

I will be with you.

You are blessed.

Blessed you shall be,

and blessed you shall continue to be;

not only to yourself, but to others.
