#VIRTUALBOOKTOUR #GIVEAWAY ~~ BLACK, WHITE AND RED ALL OVER by Deeann D. Mathews #christian #mystery #newbookalert @wnlbooktours

Write Now Literary is pleased to be organizing a two-week book tour for Black, White and RED All Over by Deeann D. Mathews. The book tour will run February 1-12, 2021.

Genre: Christian Mystery/Suspense

ISBN-13: 978-1735575209

Deeann D. Mathews is an author, musician, and fractal artist, from San Francisco, CA. She is the author of Black, White, and RED All Over, the first in a series of clean Christian mysteries, and also the author of Seasons Siblings' Timeshare Tiff, a fictional take on the famous fall weather of her hometown. She is also the creative director of Praising Pilgrims Music, a small publishing company of music and music-related materials based in San Francisco, California. Ms. Mathews is also actively creating fractal art and other creative works across a variety of disciplines on Peakd.com.

Ironwood Hamilton, new captain of police in Tinyville VA, is put at odds with his regional police colleagues when a new and confrontational Black newspaper hits them all with a demand for public release of records about police brutality in Lofton County. With the help of one loyal lieutenant and a relative with a famous name and suitably dangerous temperament, Captain Hamilton must gather the clues to a plan for rogue police action that will eventuate in blood and fire

“It used to be 'what's that black and white and read all over?' was a joke told about the newspaper, but every newspaper in the hands of racist reactionaries in the South has indeed been red all over – soaked with the blood of innocent Black people brutalized and slaughtered over lies in print that continue to this day.

“No more will we allow the wholesale placarding of racist tomes about ourselves and our children to pass for news. No more will we not have a voice to raise in challenge. No more shall we, the Black populations of Tinyville, Littleburg, Miniopolis, Smallwood, Shortport, Big Loft, and the rural countryside be passively painted as savages while the real savages sit comfortably in places of law, commerce, and politics. Be it known to all Virginia: those days are over! Hereby understand that the Lofton County Free Voice will roar back at the voices of racist reactionary news, beginning in Tinyville, then across Lofton County, then to the uttermost parts of Virginia!”

Captain Ironwood Hamilton and Lieutenant Patrick O'Reilly of Tinyville's two-man police force stood at the nearest public bulletin board nearest the police station, reading what they had been reading, over and over again, on their regular dawn walk through the town.

The lieutenant was 25 years old, medium height and build, with bright red hair, ruddy skin, green eyes, and a shocking Southern drawl (unless you know the Scotch-Irish history of the southeastern United States).

The captain was 45 years old, six feet tall, sinewy, with iron-gray eyes and hair to match. His features looked like something that those Southern artists who loved to carve Confederates out of marble would have adored – classic, strong features, handsome, calm, and resolute. The slight pinch in those features from the sudden headache the captain was experiencing would of course have been glossed over.

“Wow,” said Lieutenant O'Reilly. “Have ever you read such bombast in all your life, Captain?”

Captain Ironwood Hamilton shook his head slowly, slowly because of the headache that was increasing every second.

“It's only bombast if the Lofton County Free Voice can't do what it says. I rather think it can, or at least can make a gallant effort.”

Lieutenant O'Reilly's green eyes got wide.

“Captain, you're not serious! A Black newspaper? In Lofton County? They won't last a week!”

Captain Hamilton shook his head again and restrained his urge to rub his throbbing temples.

“It's not 1819, and these are not amateurs we are dealing with. Just from this first issue, I know they have a good chunk of money in hand, dedicated people, and good strategic and tactical sense.”

In Conversation with

Michelle Stimpson

Q: This is a different kind of book for you. What made you venture a little with this title?

A: After writing 40+ books, an author can get kinds stagnant. I have recently started reading clean mysteries, and I found that I actually enjoy them. They keep me up late at night because I truly want to find out whodunit and why. I’m hoping my readers will enjoy a different pace, too. I think they’ll be glad to know it’s possible to change things up and still keep the message of the book strong.

Q: What is the message of the book?

A: The main character, Ashley, is struggling to make sense of things as they relate to her. She has suffered much loss in her life already. But she’s going to have to understand that God doesn’t make His plans around Her. She may be the apple of His eye, but she is not the center of the universe.  His promise to be there always will have to sufficient for some of us until we reach the other side.

Q: Wow! That title really caught me. How did you come up with the idea for this book?

A: You know what, I wish I could remember. Thankfully, I have not experience much death around me, but I know that the longer I live, the more loved ones will pass away. Death is a part of life.  I don’t kill off a lot of characters in my books, but there was just something about this couple that struck my imagination and I knew they needed a book. Quickly!

Q: How quick?

A: About 10 days from outline to finished first draft.

Q: Seriously?

A: Yes, but keep in mind: This is a shorter work of fiction.

Q: Why did you choose to write a shorter piece?

A: I actually got my start with fiction as a short-story writer. I love shorter reads because I can finish them quickly. My schedule is often irregular, so it’s hard for me to get into longer books during hectic weeks. When I sit down for a few hours with a short read, I already know I’m going to have the satisfaction of finishing it. I usually save longer reads for holidays/vacations.

Q: What else is going on with you outside of the writing world?

A: Glad you asked! I am now the grandmother of a wonderful baby girl. Bless God! I am spending a ridiculous amount of time just staring at her and nibbling on her juicy cheeks.

Q: What’s your next release?

A: I’ve got a non-fiction book coming out entitled Change Your Mind, Transform Your Life: 21 Truths to Renew Your Mind in Christ. I am always sooo excited about edifying believers. Non-fiction is not my first genre, but it is definitely one of the most fulfilling to me.

Q: Do you have advice for aspiring authors?

A: I have more than advice—I have help! They can visit www.PublishMyBookAlready.com to take classes and learn more about publishing, marketing, etc.
Q: How Can Readers Connect with You?

A: The best way to keep in touch is through my email list. I send out notice of new books and keep people posted on all kinds of things from events to what’s happening with their favorite characters to upcoming releases.

Chapter 1

“Thank you for doing this, Allan.” I kept my eyes steady on the unfamiliar, winding road sprawling before me. Already, I had braked three times for sharp turns and a pothole.

Allan, ears covered by headphones, bobbed as though he didn’t hear my compliment. His baby smooth skin, dimples, and semi-mohawk haircut made him look much younger than thirty-two. So young, in fact, that a few times, twenty-something chicks at his DJing events had mistaken me as his older sister or his manager, even though I was only thirty. Allan thought that was funny. “It’s good for business,” he’d say, flashing his boyish grin.

I was tired of him acting like a boy. A guy. A dude. A bro. I needed him to grow up and be a man. Start thinking about things that mattered, namely his eternity. Since Allan had agreed to attend this non-church-affiliated men’s retreat, I thought my prayers were finally being answered. I had gone all out to take off work early so I could take him to Peaceful Days. Even dusted on some makeup and flat-ironed my wavy mane so he’d have this awesome picture of me in the back of his mind all weekend.

I tapped him on the shoulder and mouthed again, “Thank you for doing this.”

I knew better than to expect a “Sure thing, Ashley,” or “It’s my pleasure to go,” from him. He was either ignoring me or caught up in his music. No matter, I was used to being blocked out of his life by music, working at KRBF FM radio Dallas. His side gigs. His friends. His lifestyle.

Still, my eyes watered for a moment. The rejection stung worse than a bee. At least when a bee stung, it was defending its own territory. Allan and I were supposed to be one in God’s sight. Why he chose to turn on me—his wife of six years—and treat me like the enemy was unreasonable. We were on the same team.

At least we were until Corey died.

#WNLBOOKTOURS Author Spotlight T. K. Ware, Trial Of Injustice, #Christian #Fiction #Mystery

Today I'd like to welcome T.K Ware to my blog.

We chopping it up about his latest release

Trial Of Injustice

Tshombye Kentrell Ware, raised in Albany, Ga. A young man endowed with creativity, moved to the city of Macon Georgia, to continue his education. Upon graduation the creativity began to emerge. Kentrell would often times would drift away and find himself writing from the imagination that lingered within. This led to the creation of a Christian CD entitled "L.O.C" The Love of Christ. Upon completion of high school, Kentrell traveled to the great state of Alabama by way of an athletic scholarship to Lurleen B Wallace College. Kentrell, being a man of vivid imaginations, would discover his creativity while obtaining studies at the local college.

Kentrell was drawn to particular classes that promoted his creativity. These included Psychology, English, and History courses just to name a few. As the years progressed, so did his creativity. Oftentimes Kentrell would share his faith with other collegiate students through a gift called the spoken word. As the door to inspiration continued to open, Kentrell became drawn toward writing; which led to his inspired creations.

T.K. Ware has a passion for writings that offer a subliminal message that minister to the body, soul and spirit. A firm supporter to those who seek to employ the world through inspired writings. Many of his titles are unpublished. He has chosen to release certain titles throughout the days, months and years, as the seasons change.

Banker, Alabama
will never be the same again....

On a Thursday morning in Banker, Alabama the body of a twenty-one year-old woman was discovered murdered. After the police and forensics inspected, with the help of eyewitnesses and fingerprints, the man responsible for the heinous was identified as Pastor Thaddeus Ganvis.

After finishing another victorious case, Charles returned to his office. As the day continued, he found himself logging into Facebook, and nearly dropped his phone when he discovered that his former pastor was arrested for first-degree murder.

Without a second thought, he flew to Banker, Alabama to prove the innocence of a godly man. Along the way he discovers the opposition that threatens.

What do you hope this book accomplishes?

I hope my book opens the eyes of the readers to see how faith operates. Moreover, to show the true power of forgiveness.

Who (or what) is your greatest encourager when you write and why?

My greatest encouragement is the simply fact that I'm able to implement a gospel message within my stories. Instead of pounding someone on the head with biblical principles, I found it easier to display those principles in a way that's easy to understand.

Upcoming events?

We have a couple of book tours coming in the July. Once the locations are set, all the information will be posted on my website.

Any tips for upcoming authors?

Don't give up on your dream. Continue to work on the craft. Anyone can write a book, but only a few will take the time to learn the craft. In doing so, you'll stand out from the millions of authors and those who are yet to come out.

How can readers connect with you?

Twitter & Instagram @GospelWriter8, Facebook: TK Ware , and through my personal website. www.tk-ware.com

What genre is your book? Christian fiction/mystery

Is there a biblical scripture that would sum up your novel? Why?

Yes. Proverbs 3:5-6 'Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.'

The lawyer defending Pastor Gavis lives by this particular scripture. There are severa moments where he turns to the guidance of the Lord to clear his mind of doubt.

Can you explain your writing process?

Yes. Writing comes to me in seasons. There are moments when my dreams are invaded with insightful ideas. I can't count how many times I've been awaken by an idea, which later turned into a book. When the idea is upon me, I follow it's leading until I have developed the idea into a story.

Teaser
Chris Kline’s eyes fluttered open and he saw only darkness. He was lying on a
cold, hard ground—concrete, he thought, naked—no wait, not naked. He still had his boxer briefs on. He sat up and as he did, a wave of unsteadiness came over him. Whoa. He shook his head, trying to clear cobwebs, and when his equilibrium
settled enough, he tried to stand, but couldn’t because of a manacle fastened around his right ankle. He shivered.

Where am I?
What’s going on?
Think, Chris. Think!

“Brother Half Angel”

By Martin Roth

“Brother Half Angel” is the first in a series of international thrillers by Martin Roth. These feature Brother Half Angel, the leader of a secret new church military order dedicated to helping Christians under attack around the world.

In this first book of the series he is dispatched urgently to China, where an underground seminary is under siege from fanatical sword-wielding members of a local cult who still pay homage to the bloodthirsty extremists who tried to expel all foreigners from China in the nineteenth century.

The following is a short excerpt from the book (continued from http://sunnebnkwrtr.blogspot.com/). Scroll to the end to learn how to read more, and also to learn how you can buy the book for a special price and with the chance to win a $200 Amazon gift voucher.

Chapter 2

Fulang, China

“And suddenly we have a new emergency in Corinth. False prophets have infiltrated the community.” Daniel Westloke - one half of the American couple alluded to by the young Chinese mothers - was teaching the New Testament to a dozen of his advanced seminary students. It was testing his Mandarin Chinese language abilities to the limit.
“So Paul affirms that he is a superior servant of Christ, because he has suffered greatly while fulfilling his role of apostle. In other words, he is affirming that the true power of an apostle is actually God’s power, revealed through human weakness.”
Several of the students were taking notes. Others were listening intently. He knew that the moment he stopped talking he could expect a vigorous debate. Every single one of these students knew intimately how the church in China was being forged in suffering. They understood Paul as well as anyone.
Sometimes Daniel felt so excited about all this that he could barely contain himself. It was as if he were walking alongside Paul himself, watching and experiencing the birth of a young church, one that was destined to have an enormous impact.
Indeed, Daniel sometimes struggled to comprehend the passion of these students. They were on fire. With their burning intensity to learn, they were set to change China, and quite possibly the world. Already Daniel’s wife Jenny was teaching some of them English, so they could transport their faith to the four corners of the globe.
The seminary occupied an ageing stone farmhouse, a compound that would previously have housed an extended family, with half-a-dozen bedrooms. Several of these rooms were now classrooms.
Daniel’s own classroom was a cramped space with a long table, perspex chairs that a local restaurant had abandoned, crumbling pink plaster, a couple of holes in the ceiling and a high window that allowed in just enough sunlight to keep the room from darkness.

On the wall he had taped some large posters brought with him when he arrived two months earlier from North Carolina. One showed flowers - roses, tulips, daffodils, lilacs and more - with the names in large letters. Another displayed a selection of vehicles and their names - automobile, van, truck, bus, taxicab, locomotive, fire engine, bicycle, motorcycle and so on. Should the police raid the premises - something that could happen at any time - these posters were intended to help assure them that it was only English being taught here, and certainly not theology.
Next to his room was another, where English really was taught, by his wife Jenny, one class a day each afternoon to a select group of elementary school kids, again intended to assure the authorities that this really was an English school, and also to bring in a little income.
“Now let us look at some of the persecution endured by Paul,” said Daniel.
It was at this moment that Jenny walked in. She was tall and slender - the same height as her husband - and, though this region of northern China did not lack in tall people, she was still a striking figure with her blue eyes, long auburn hair and creamy complexion, complete with a sprinkling of freckles.
“Excuse me,” she said to the students, coming near to exhausting her Mandarin vocabulary. She looked at her husband. “Danny, Uncle Ling wants to talk to us. That’s what Brother Yoon has just told me. He says it’s urgent.”

“Right now?”
“He says it’s urgent.”

A further excerpt from the book will be published on December 6 at http://www.barbaraannderksen.com/ and http://www.kimpayne.wordpress.com.
